cannot see my mistakes
feeling like a god
without fear (and) self-control
i will never stop
can`t remember last night
how did i get here
many drinks and many lives
all the same to me
try so hard to be a good man
every day is a mistake
give me just this one last chance
i will be so brave
who wants to know
if i am strong
i`m so lonely tonight
as only one can be
i`m the only one i love
can`t you fucking see
loneliness and emptiness
drive me fucking mad
i`m not your hero
I will wait for better time
to bring my fucking life back
days are passing by
slipping through my fingers now
can`t think bout anything else
can`t be someone whom i was
must fight my demons
can`t think `bout life this time
when i`m so separated
from reality
so empty inside
someday i swear i`ll be back
i`m nothing without promises
promises
how can you be so blind
there`s only one thing i know
i could have been so strong
but there was nothing to fight for
my demons are taking control

As these psychedelic folk rockers from Glasgow apparently like to play with dark-light contrasts, Lucid Sins is indeed a well chosen band name. My normal go-to address for this kind of music with a pleasant retro-flair, is Chris Wade's Dodson & Fogg but by good luck I stumbled over these guys, who deliver comparable goods, though a good deal harder hitting and with infectious grooves. The drivin Hidden in the Dark is another favourite. Carsten Pieper
Produced by Converge's Kurt Ballou, the metal band's fourth LP channels tragic, transcendental themes into fierce progressive sludge metal. Bandcamp New & Notable Jan 28, 2024
Bunsenburner works from a base of stoner metal but expands far past it, incorporating long, searching, searing jams. Bandcamp New & Notable Aug 12, 2023
